Abstract

|
The mesonephroma of the ovary is a rare and malignant tumor and has become interested in many reports after the first description by Schiller in 1939. There are many discussions on nomenclature, classification and the mode of ,occurrence of this tumor of relatively rare and malignant in nature with high mortality.
Recently, we experienced a case of an eleven-year-old girl with a mesonephroma arising from the left ovary at department of surgery, Seoul National University Hospital. She was admitted due to her lower abdominal pain with fever, decreased urinary output and mild constipation. The exploratory laparotomy was carried out and the tumor, which had smooth surface and scatered necrotic area and showing adhesion to the adjacent bowels, was removed with left
adnexa. A case of a rare mesonephroma of the ovary is described below.
